The Barking Dilemma How To Deal With It

You love your dog but he barks – a lot! If it becomes incessant barking, it can be really annoying to you and your neighbors. Any ideas what to do in order to control or reduce your dog’s barking and make him the most loved dog on the block?

It may be time to try a barking control collar if the traditional method don’t seem to be working. Many of these work by using sound so that the desired behavior, (in this case stopping barking), can be associated with the sound. There are models that are more sophisticated and of course more expensive and they would use electric shocks in order to deter the dog from barking.

Two types of bark detection are actually used in bark control collars. The sound collar uses the noise of yourdogs bark to activate and the vibration collar uses the vibrations from your dog’s throat. Neither type is perfect. Sharp external sounds can be set off from the sound type and the vibration type can be set off from violent motion such as your dog drying himself. Collars are available which can combine these two methods and these will help to reduce the false readings.
